MERCEDES MOTORING — Classic Mercedes-Benz, Lovingly Restored

I plan on adding new items periodically so check back often for updates. I have a slew of cool parts lying around here, so I figured over time I would begin to let some of them go. Please email me with any questions or to make a purchase. The parts will sell in the order the emails are received. Shipping will be added once I have your address and can calculate the exact cost.

Please email me to make a purchase – jg@mercedesmotoring.com – Thanks!

W108/109, etc. Grill

$190

This came off a 1970 300SEL 6.3. It is in fantastic original condition with excellent badge and star as well. I assume this will fit quite a few different models, including the tall grill W111 and countless other models.

W123 Trailer Hitch

$150Sold

I'm not versed in the world of trailer hitches because they are so few and far between. Most people think it's a joke when you mention a trailer hitch for a W123, but nope, these cars are ruthless little juggernauts once you get them rolling...it's all that torque! This hitch came off a European 240TD station wagon I had a while back. I'm not sure all the specifics, but the data badge riveted onto the hitch says MAX 1,600 KG, so I assume that's all it's meant to pull...although that converts to something like 3,500 pounds, which I assume is far beyond the towing capacity of any W123. If you're interested I have to request that you do the fact checking on what your model can handle in terms of towing capacity.

W123 European Headlights

$265Sold

They are both Bosch lenses with very minor pitting and wear. Very presentable and becoming more and more rare these days. I gave the last set away for $220, but these are still a great deal at $265.

Becker Europa AM/FM Stereo

This came from a very low mileage W115 240D. It looks like new. It works like new. The model number is mo. - 812. (Brochures not included.)

Black Powder Coated Bundt Center Caps

$110Sold

Occasionally I come across old metal center caps used on Bundt wheels which are pretty cool. I've always wondered what kind of metal they are, but I'm not sure. It seems like pot metal, perhaps you know for certain? Anyway, a while back I had a trial set of these powder coated black because I have an idea for setting up a future custom W114 on black 14" steel wheels with these fabricated into the front rims and rear hubs. I wanted to see how the caps would turn out before I did all the wheels. As many of you know these center caps are now made of plastic. So here's the trial set. They turned out great. Minor wear, but super......rare! Said it.

W123 Passenger Side Mirror

$50Sold

Excellent used passenger side outside mirror. Not a single blemish it just needs a light polishing. Perhaps your W123 came without this option or you got a little to close to the garage one day.

Engine Block Heater for M110 Engine

$50Sold

This part is about as foreign as it gets for me here in Southern California. Not sure its value, but would love to find a buyer. It’s new, in the box and has all the installation instructions. This was a long running engine for Mercedes-Benz, I believe from 1973 to 1985 or ’86. If you have the dual overhead cam straight six motor and you wear snow boots in the winter, this here is for you.

Stainless Steel Hubcaps

$430Sold

These 14" stainless steel hubcaps are finished in classic white (Mercedes-Benz paint code 737). These are not chrome, they are stainless steel, which offers a much deeper shine and are far more durable. When I had these refinished last month I was unhappy with the quality. There are some very light ripples that didn’t come out on a few edges, and one hairline burn from the polishing. A concourse set of these cost about $1,000 (that would include purchasing the hubcaps).

W123 European Headlights

$220Sold

These were originally from a 1984 240TD station wagon out of Belgium. They are like new all the way around. One Hella lens and one Bosch lens with almost zero pitting on the glass. They are very nice.

14" Powdercoated Steel Wheels

$300Sold

These have a W108 part number but can be used on almost any vintage model. I like them based on the 6" width and breather holes. They have never been used since powdercoated.

W116 Coco Mats

$100Sold

I bought these for a 1979 300SD, but used them for only a few weeks. They will fit any W116 model. They look brand new.

3 Core A/C Servos

$50Sold

If you or anyone you know rebuilds these they are all decent candidates. Cracked housings, but good other than that.

W123 Rear Cargo Mats

$225Sold

If you own a W123 wagon do yourself a favor and invest in a set of these. They are brand new and super cool. I believe this set was made in the mid-80’s.

Brand New W123 Factory Windshield

$390Sold

I had this set aside for a 300TD wagon, but never got around to installing it. It’s brand new. As you might know, the factory windshield is dramatically higher quality than most aftermarket windshields. It plays a big part in the roll over strength, not to mention they just look better. The dealers charge about $700 plus for one of these.

300TD Carpet Kit

$1,250Sold

The color is palomino, although I was not happy with the dye lot and thought this kit looked a little too green and dark. I should have decided that before it was completely sewn together and glued up. This is ready to go. Probably the best deal I have here because all of the labor is finished and I’m including all of the parts (cargo door, wheel wells, first-aid kit door, spare tire cover, OEM driver side heel pad, etc., etc.) This is for any model W123 wagon without a rear-facing 3rd back seat and a 1/3 – 2/3 split middle bench seat.
