W123 Trailer Hitch

I'm not versed in the world of trailer hitches because they are so few and far between. Most people think it's a joke when you mention a trailer hitch for a W123, but nope, these cars are ruthless little juggernauts once you get them rolling...it's all that torque! This hitch came off a European 240TD station wagon I had a while back. I'm not sure all the specifics, but the data badge riveted onto the hitch says MAX 1,600 KG, so I assume that's all it's meant to pull...although that converts to something like 3,500 pounds, which I assume is far beyond the towing capacity of any W123. If you're interested I have to request that you do the fact checking on what your model can handle in terms of towing capacity.
